Wanted to ask the question

---Why have we always had a poor music scene in this area of the world?

I know that some may disagree and quote various gigs that have happened in the area over time. Others will quote various periods where certain venue's have put on good gigs. This is true and some big names have played in the area in the long distant past.
I find that unfortunately we have always had to look to Liverpool and Manchester for the best gigs as more often than not there are few or no venue's putting on gigs around here.

There are a few up and coming bands around at the moment and I wish them well but I really do wish that we had a venue that could accomodate a varied range of artists.
